Blizzcon 2017 Opening Ceremony news roundup

Blizzcon 2017 has officially begun and has brought a good chunk of news on Overwatch, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, Starcraft II, and World of Warcraft in a fantastic opening ceremony.

Starcraft II

  • Starting on November 14th, 2017, players will get free access to the Wings of Liberty campaign, ranked ladder play and Co-Op Commanders up to level five.
  • The newest Co-Op Commander, Mira Han and Matt Horner, is a mixture of two commanders with Dominion air units from Matt Horner and quick ground units as Mira Han.

Heroes of the Storm

  • Two new heroes have been highlighted, Hanzo and Alexstraza.
  • Performance Based Matchmaking, voice chat, and the 2018 Gameplay Update will continue to fine tune a gameplay experience.

Hearthstone

  • The next expansion, Kobolds & Catacombs will be released in December. This expansion will include Dungeon Runs, Free Legendary Cards, and Recruit cards (the ability to draw random minions from your deck).
  • Pre-purchasing the pack will allow the player to receive a jewel-encrusted “For the Horde!” card for free.

Overwatch

  • New map has been shown off, Blizzard World, which is a celebration of Blizzard games such as Diablo, StarCraft, and Warcraft.
  • The life draining geneticist, Moira, will be joining the hero lineup soon.
  • “Honor and Glory,” a new animated short takes a dive into Reinheirdt’s past.

World of Warcraft

  • Finally, the war between the Horde and the Alliance is reignited in the new expansion: Battle for Azeroth.
  • In addition to this new expansion, Blizzard announced plans for fans to delve into World of Warcraft Classic, a way for players to explore the original World of Warcraft.
  • Shadow of the Fox plushy will be available for purchase soon. Proceeds go towards both the American Red Cross Disaster Relief and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Disaster Relief Emergency Fund.
